Picked up my Warrior LE today and the dealer said that Yamaha will be offering an extra year warranty no charge for early purchasers. Anyone hear this as well?

I never was told that. But if anyone has any info on purchasing an extended warranty after the fact, please say so. My dealer wanted 650 for 4 years. I thought that seemed a little high??

My dealer told me last week that I'm also getting the two year warranty for free! But again I live in Canada (Quebec)...

I paid $525 for 4 additional years on my RXWLE. Thats a net 5 year warranty! Being an former Polaris guy (this is my first Yamaha) it's incredible!

Some friends from Winnipeg said that Yamaha was asked, by the Canadian goverment, to extend the warranty due to abnormally high complaints from owners. They thought it was do to excess engine noise on start up in extreme cold conditions. They also said that Yamaha can't sell the RX1, in their area this year, due to bad press on engine noise.
Several in their group rode RX1's last year, when I rode with them, and have dumped them for a real loss. If there is any truth to this I do not know. But I do know 4 guys switched to Poo.
I think the warranty might be used to boost sagging sales in Canada.
Just my 2 cents worth :!:

Sket, I can't see this as a tactic to boost sales because nobody knew about the extended warranty when they spring booked (at least I didn't).
