Extended warranty

Is the Y.E.S. extended warranty worth getting? $768 US for 3 additional years of warranty (4 total) on a new 08 RS Vector LTX GT.

Does anyone know if I could use it if I needed warranty work done while on a trip in Canada?

Its worth it if ya plan on leaving sled stock I was going to get it but dealer wouldn't let me change seat exhaust or even raise my bars he said if there is a problem they will try to link it back to one of those modifications silly in my opinion but that's what two different ones told me. another thing is shop around not all dealers are the same price the lowest i found was 530 for 3 additional years

I thought about it when I bought my '05 Vector and glad I didn't because I never used any of it. My dealer even told me I probably didn't need it and he was right I didn't.

I believe you have up to 1 year to decide; I've heard Port Yamaha has a good price if you decide to go for it, I'm thinking of it.

Sounds like some of you guys don't have very customer oriented dealers. I bought both my '03 and '05 RX1 from the same dealer. He sold me a YES for four extra years on each sled for $400. Both of them had after market mods and I definitely got more than my money back in warranty repairs. I think the warranty would be honored on something unless the item you modded is what you are asking warranty on like the engine for example.

Im shocked my local dealer is in business. Their terrible when it comes to taking care of you. An example, I bought some clips, $10 and when they showed up they were wrong. No worries, told them at the counter they were wrong, and they charged $2 just to restock the friggen things.

Give the guys at Port Yamaha a call...its where I and many others here purchased the Ex.Warranty from. If I remember right it was $499 for 4 years.

yea that's what everyone kinda got me convinced so i opted to stay with my one year cause I'm still on the fence deciding on turbo or turbo not
