sled is 2005 rxwar with fully clipped ice ripper and 9 tooth extroverts from royal distributing. they have been trimmed for clearance with the rails.

as the season is done around here, i want to see if you guys consider this a problem.

all season my track would stay locked up unless i rotated it 6" by hand after a ride. after the 6" of movement, it would be fine all day but the next morning/ride it would do the same thing unless it was in a heated garage.

is this kind of ice build up normal or is something wrong? never had this problem before.

thanks maim.

Have you check the chain case oil to see if its milky. If you had a lot of water it could freeze. Are you getting a big block of ice in front of the track.

thats what I was thinking, chain case oil..... what about your secondary clutch? have you checked that out? bearings? I would think Ice build up would take more than a 6" spin to clear up.

bearings where checked when the track was put on and all where good.
oil was replaced after 1st ride as i had the seal spacer missing on the jackshaft. oil checks clear with no debris.
heat exchanger was clear on the front and rear as i remeber checking.
secondary is a good used tower 1/2 from turk and the rest of it shows no abnormal wear (8000km on the sled).
reverse shifts the same as always and there was no obvious wear in the chain case when we had it apart. all the bearings where good as where the guides.

Are your extros seating properly? I got the same extros from Royal and had to grind the teeth so they would seat properly in the windows.

Riding is still awesome north of town. I rode all last weekend at camp. I am hoping for at least two more weekends of riding. Ice is still mega thick.

Maybe you have a small sapping jammed underneath your tunnel?

all tree type objects have been removed from the sled. after following sapplingkiller, you learn to check for that stuff fairly often.

i only have the problem after a ride. i loaded it into the trailer on sunday and it moves fine as always when fully defrosted.

if i had someone to ride with i would be going up by cartier this weekend. whitewater is still safe but the creeks are now open with no ice, so it will not be long.

Silly question maybe but is the 9 tooth the correct driver for the track? Have you looked at the clutching for problems?

track came off of chadg's 600 and he was running stock yamy drivers as far as i know from looking at his build thread on the 2 stroke side.

clutching is ulmers and we did check it at the beginning of the season. no excessive play in any of the bushings or rollers. 4th season on the clutching with no previous problems.
