I want to put a set of extrovert drivers on my 05 Rx1mtn, I have heard Avid are good and also the ones from the Apex are very smooth. Obviously I am interested in both smoothness and longevity of the driver. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm going to try Avid this year. I've wrecked a set of Wahl and a set of Apex drivers in the previous 2 years so we'll give these a shot.

I do know the ones from the Apex will not work unless you have installed a 3.0 pitch track on your 05 RX MTN. Wahl Bros (PPD) makes a good extrovert in the 2.52 8T that work very well and I do believe they are cheaper than the Avid. I have also heard great things about the Avid Products.

Just ordered the Avid drivers today so I'll keep my fingers crossed I don't have to change drivers again.

My thoughts exaclty.

The best bang for your buck in a 2.52 extrovert is the OEM Skidoo. If you're looking for a 3" pitch driver the CNCed Avid is the nicest but priciest as well.

Avid drivers

OK, I ordered a set of drivers from Avid. They arrived in the mail today. They are 8 tooth 2.52 pitch drivers. Here's the problem--they are PPD-Wahl racing extros from WPS (they still have the WPS stickers on them).

Did they pull a switch on me? I thought that they made their own drivers, not just sell other people as theirs. They seem to be very poorly made drivers. One side of the tooth is cut smooth. The other side shows the casting marks and they stick out about 1/32". I wish I had known about this, I would have just ordered the Ski-Don't drivers.

Looks like you got the wrong ones. I ordered mine at the snow show in Spokane and he stated they carry 2 different drivers the whal and their custom C&C'd ones. The C&C'd drivers are a little spendy, but are much nicer.
