I am at a loss as to why my factory sidewinder gauge is still not registering rpm, odometer and speedometer figures. It turns on and shows fuel level only everything else is zeros. Occasionally it flashes error code u0155.
To date my dealer has;
-swapped out factory gauge for new one
-I had the ECU tested on another machine and its aok
-we hooked up another hood on my machine and everything worked fine so we thought it was the hood wiring harness
-we swapped out the hood wiring harness...same issue!
Very strange, its off warranty now but this has been going on since last year.
Any help on this ongoing frustrating issue would be much appreciated!

Have you checked or tested your speedometer sensor their were some issues with the ones on the vipers awhile back I think.

U code faults are communications between each other.
Sometimes called lan/can networks.
Sounds like you components are ok since they work on another sled so you could have a wiring issue from the main harness from the ecu to the hood harness or another component that is tied to the comm lines shorting out the network.
Look at a diagram to see what else is linked to the main comm lines between ecu/ cluster.
Hope dealer can track it down.

We’re the hood plugs in to rest of the sled ,clutch side, look at the pins to see if bent or pushed in. Also the plug going to the gauge, sometimes pin unseats itself if not lined up correctly and gets pushed in. Or plug was pushed in at angle causeing pins to get bent, it happened to me in the past

Thanks for the suggestions guys!
The dealer is ordering yet another gauge as he says sometimes warranted parts are returned and then shipped back out without being tested.
Baydog... we haven't checked the speedometer sensor..I will run this past the dealer. RPM's are showing zero as well on gauge.
Crossfire12...My hood and gauge works when plugged into another sled, and all pins appear fine
cobra jet...i will pass this along to the dealer as well

This all started when i took it to the dealer at the end of last season for servicing. From the time I unloaded it off the trailer and drove it across the parking lot to the service bay the odometer mysteriously added a 1 to its total, essentially adding 10,000 km to the total. Quite the surprise thats for sure! I mentioned it to the dealer and he ordered and installed a new gauge that has not worked since. Real strange.

Does the speed sensor read rpm, distance traveled and speed? These are all zeroed out now.

Does your accessory port have power? My heated shield plug shorted while in the accessory port and a similar problem happened. When I changed the fuse my odometer starting counting up when the sled was standing still!!!

Hard to troubleshoot these problems 'over the phone' so to speak.
However, this code means lost communication. Try to get a wire diagram and look for a common wire that has effects all three displays you mentioned. Possibly a ground, but I think the problem is in the harness somewhere, a broken wire, or a wire not hooked up.

The mystery has finally been solved boys!
The first guage failed and suddenly added 10,000 km to my odometer for some reason
The replacement guage which was replaced under warranty turned out being defective as well.
The guage has now been replaced again under warranty and is now working perfectly so far.
Crazy to have two defective gauges in a row but it looks like that was it!
Thanks a ton for all the help, suggestions and PM’s trying to diagnose the issue.
This forum and its members are awesome and I appreciate your help!
Cheers,
