I have a few changes in mind for my 09 FX shorty, I'm really starting like this thing so I'm taking the For sale sign off and making a few changes (imagine that!!!!), if anyone has made these I would appreciate your input.
1. Wider MX bars and 3" riser, I can't get used to stock bars, angle and width are killing my right hand.
2. 121" to 128" Rail extension from Ulmer, with 1.5" track, I need input on this for sure!!!!!
3. Slip on muffler, that sounds great and adds a few HP's
4. Slydog 135mm wheels, will this HELP the Hyfax wear????
I thought I would ask here first before bothering Ulmer..
Thanks

Bars, can't help..but I have read enough about the OFT relocating kit that I will be going that route next season.
For a slip on..Hindle...made 3HP..your choice if visible ( like Excell ) or hidden behind stock plastics..muffler weighs 2-3lbs ( save 10lbs over stock )
Weels...I just used stock Yamaha wheels..added an extra set between the rear axle and the front and sliders have stayed the same all season..I also added a marginal kit up front on the bend in the rail...raptordan made them up for me and they worked awsome.
I too am looking to extend to a 128"..and want to find the best set up as $500 for custom rails might be a bit too much along with a track and studs...I'm hoping OFT makes something cause I really like the looks of there stuff.

My thought
I'm not sure if OFT does but I would just go with the 144" tipped up rail kit. Mine even with the 1.75 back country handles great on the trails. I wouldn't go with any but that after doing it.

1. Raising the bars will help
2. If your going to spend the $ to extend the track go at least 136 you wont be disappointed.
3. There are a few mufflers to chose from; Super and Ultra Q, Excell, Bender, etc. Add the header and the combo Exhaust/Header will give you approx 10hp.
4. I have slydogs on my XTX and they have done an excellent job extending the life of my sliders... Highly recommend
Good luck..
