Well after almost a year of waffling I finally pulled the trigger on an '09 XTX. I hope I made the right decision. I am coming off an '03 firecat F7 but found myself off trail a lot more and the fcat was not cutting it. I pained over the decision of an XTX or switchback/Assaultm, but in the end reliability and fit/finish won me over. Here is a crappy cell phone pic. First new parts are a track and some skis.

I bought the 09 xtx and rode it last march and april.Try it before changing the track or skiis , unless you are mountain riding. It works well as is ! Add a windshield , take lots of time with the shock settings , 0-6 on the front is night and day. The xtx is a great choice, give yourself time to get used to it !

...and the Yamaheater.

ditch the stock skis, and the yamaheater is a must. Also might want to look into more fuel if you don't want to run out in about 100 miles.
I set mine up for boondockin' in AK. But, I rode it all last winter before knowing what to change for this winter!

Welcome neighbor. We must be close. I live on Salt River. Maybe I'll see you on Anchor Bay.
I have a blue '09 XTX. Picked it up late last season. Only had a chance to put 100 miles on. I installed a medium windshield, bergstrom tripple carbides, shimmed the skis, and 1.450" studs two down the middle. Waiting for snow. What dealer did you get it from. I got mine from Roseville Powersports.

I am at 24 and Foster, right behind Lanse Cruse Higgins elementary. Got the sled from Great Lakes Powersports. Was planning on getting it at Roseville but no one had 09s left. This one was the service managers demo sled. Has 240 miles. Saved me $400 over everyones price. I have nothing but nice things to say about the sale/service. I am thinking a 1.5 cross-over and some simmons are a must. I used to go to Anchor Bay all the time W my FCat.

Good choice n congrats !!
After my first few rides, I put Woody's 6" duallys on and switched the spacers around on the ski's to make a wider stance. It seemed to help for me. And also turn the torsion spacer block to hard. Also went down one hole on the straps. I'd start there before investing to much more money off the bat. Have fun and ride safe!!
