So I finally got a 2008 Nytro FX inspite of all the negativity I've read. This is my spare sled although I can't wait to take it for a ride. I have been on apexes since 06 and currently ride a 2011 apex XTX which is the est sled I've ever owned, and I've owned many.

Heard some guys prefer the nytro over the apex and of course heard just the opposite. So was wondering who has owned both and maybe pros and cons.

I ride groomed trials 98% of the time.

Thanks in advance.

Looks good, I can see that the previous owner took care of it and addressed the handling issue by installing C&A skis. Any other mods done to it?

While it's up on that stand, check the the A arm bushings to see if they require replacing. Also inspect the subframe for any buckling of the metal where the A arm mounts.

Nice Nytro! I finally get to see what White and Blue C & A skis look like on a Nytro. I am going to put them on my Nytro XTX with the same color scheme. Cant wait for snow.

No other mods other than new studs I just installed. Everything seems tight, it only has 1800 miles. just finished polishing the tunnel, lots of work but worth it in the end!

As far as the C&A pro skis, do you think I'll need dual carbides to stop the searching/ darting i've read so much about?

Witch C&A skis are they? I have the C&A Razors with 9in shaper bars on my fx and I get no darting what so ever. I also have no studs. At most I might get just a bit when I let off the throttle and load the front end without breaking. But that might have been only once ever. And nice looking sled. I think you are all set having each style sled, the apex for smooth fast groomed trails when you feel like sitting and the Nytro when it is rough and you feel like tossing the sled around a bit.

You don't need dual carbides with C&A skis...they don't dart, unless you have an alignment issue.

They just say pro???

She might steer a little hard with the C&A skis tho. Mine steered like a tank on hardpack snow conditions with them on.

I recommend a revalve on your shocks, its good you have the coilovers on the front, and not the floats. Should be able to get that sled to handle awesome with a good revalve and some minor adjustments.

Steering effort went way down after I had my shocks done. #1 most important mod to a nytro in my opinion.

Look at the bottom of them. The Razors have 2 V shaped khels on the bottom that are support to help with loose snow in the corners. But no matter what ones you have they are a good set of skies.

I have the Razors with 4" carbides unstudded...Absolutely awesome skis!!!! With these skis i find you actually dont have to turn as much to get where I wanna go!!! People complain of steering effort, but IMHO they arent't that much harder than stock....You may want to add the OFT relocator to flatten out your steering axis, makes turning even easier, you dont turn down into your thighs, and gives you a bit of rise as well...... ;)!
