So how did the viper compare to the doo ? What size doo is that and did you run them at all?

I also had a chance for my first ride on the Viper (LTX-SE). Have 96 studs, C&A RZ, and a 4th wheel kit. I rode with a 2011 mxz and a 2011 renegade 800. We were just in some large wide ditches but the powder was 3+ feet deep. I have rode short track doos the last few years and could instantly tell some differences. The sled feels a little heavier although not nearly as much as expected and the instant power of the 4 stroke is addicting! We only put on 16 miles, probably only went 10, in deep powder and the sled was able to carve and soak up bumps and large drift like nothing. I thought the sled was easy to jump and after a hard bottoming and a small piece broke off the front black plastic part I checked shock pressure to find it at 40psi. My bad, oh well when the aftermarket bumper arrives it will eliminate that problem of damage. I will be out all day with a friend breaking in a new 14 xrs and in the days to come we will do some hardcore testing. I plan to install exhaust, then PCV, then port and polish head and shave .020 and degree cams. I have already done this on a few other vipers but dont know actual gains other than its noticeable!. Dyno reports and actual field testing to follow.

I also bought the c&a razors for my rtx se how was the steering with them people are trying to tell me that will be very hard to steer what are your thoughts hope you get out in the trails with more reports for us no snow in ny/vt yet

Razors are definitely agressive but very hard to steer is an exaggeration. They do bite pretty hard though and do a good job of eliminating any push in the turns. They'll work well on a viper

Update: Skis work good, too good maybe. I put 135 miles on last night in all types of conditions. I have 9" shapers and am going to go down to 6". Havent started messing with suspension yet as I wanted to get a good base feel so when making changes they will be noticable. Sled runs great! I was able to switch back and forth with a friends 14 XRS and we both agree, power is much more useable and fun on the Viper. There is a small difference in flickability but very little. You definitely need to be on the throttle a little more on the viper in deep powder but it can do all that is asked of it as I was in some 4 to 5' deep pure powder with skis straight up and it went thru it. We were riding in -20 degree weather and no issues. When I got home I decided to leave the sled out overnight and was -28F out and I went to start it. Turned it on, let pump cycle, turn over for 4 sec and it popped. Turned key off, repeated first try and it fired right up!, very impressed!! Only issue to date is after installing HIDs initially the standard and brights worked. Prior to first ride I noticed brights were on and pushing the switch does nothing. Might be an error on my install but they initially worked fine. I also love the fact of having 2 smokes needing to "baby" it to the next feul station while I still have half a tank and didnt start full like them, lol.

So you got to play hard. Did you get snow sprayed on you from the track. Just dont want to buy tunnel flares if I dont need them?
