Finally had a chance to get out for a ride, spent the last two days in Norther New Brunswick. I think this sled is awesome, lots of power and easy to control in the twisties! I successfully got pass the break in period, man that was harder than I thought. First 160km's were painful, trying to keep it less than 6000rpm.... from there to 500km's not too bad.

I just ran into a problem maybe someone else has seen the same thing. After storing my snowmobile overnight in a heated garage(first time stored in heat), I started it and removed it from the garage. I topped up the snowmobile, regular gas which was approximately 2 weeks old. Started the sled and adjusted the idle (I thought it was low). About 1000 feet on the trail the sled lost power and the engine light flashed. I shut it down and checked things out, no obvious problems. I turned the idle screw back it's original position and started back up, no engine light and the sled was back to normal. I put 200km's on with no problems. It just bothers me this happen and I don't know why??? I can't imagine it had anything to do with the idle (it was actually set at 1400rpm where it should be, I thought it should be around 1600rpm). Any input would be appreciated.

Mine did something similar the other day. I started it, let it warm up with the choke off, temp light went off and I went to ride off and it bogged and died. Got it restarted but it was idling low. Blipped the throttle a few times to try to clear it out. Rode a little further, slowed and it wouldn't hold an idle. I restarted it with half choke this time and it was OK. All I can think is that this machine needs a lot of warm up time. Once warm and running it is fine. My RX-1 never did this. Unique to the vector I guess.

Sounds like water in fuel. Add a bottle of dry gas. You stated you put it in a heated garage. Sled will attrack moisture. Putting a cold sled in a heated area is bad. Best to put in a cold garage. Use a can of dry gas at every fill up. Cheap insurance.

Did you get a code 84 on the LCD?

If you adjust the idle without verifying the throttle free play the TORS can activate. This happened to me. Just ensure you idle is correct then verify throttle free play and you should be good to go.

All good points guys, thanks for the input. I think it could be any one of the three. Hopefully it don't happen again but I will take your advice. Thanks again!

what flipper said

I agree with Flipper. If you adjust the idle speed higher without readjusting throttle freeplay, it can trigger the TORS system. It would lose power and probably pop through the exhaust, but should also flash a code 84 for a few seconds at idle before clearing out.
