Just bringing this thread to the top for those who might be interested in having warm hands. I installed these at the beginning of this year and wired them up Red/Blue together, and the results have been EXCELLENT !!! Tons of heat like I had on my Viper years ago, and no issues whatsoever, actually had to turn them down more than up. This a very cheap mod, and only takes about 2 hours to do the install, well worth it

Did you change grips to,if so how are they lasting? Can you give some air temps and settting that you ran thm on to keep wam, because we ride in some fairly cold temps.SASKATCHEWAN -30c

I would not even consider going back to the staock grips/heaters. I started this tread 5 pages and over a year ago and still have not had any trouble.
I usually crank them up to get em warm then turn them down for comfort
I would say for the most part of the winter I run at about 2-3 bars. That being said, when the mercury really drops cold hands are always a problem no matter what sled you have. I have found that the "dumbo ears" you can get from Yamaha will easliy gain about 2 bars on the heat controls. It seams if you can keep some wind off you hands the heat improves greatly.

RSI grips
I've also installed rsi grips on my MTX 2008 and like them.
Lot more heat than the original ones

Ran my new RSI's two weekends ago wired like RSI said and I could not even feel them, switched to red/blue and white and now they work amaizing, like others have said like 3-4 bars. Now My next question is has anybody still had the 81 show up and the hand warmers quit working for a bit then started working again???

I'll bring this back to the top again, I have RSI warmers ready to go on, if I wire as per directions I will have a slight improvement and be on the safe side. If that is not enough I can wire Red/ blue and risk it. Can I also assume that lower settings put less load on the system? I hate electronics!!!!!

Has anyone had any problem wiring the red/blue together?

Been running my RSIs with the red/blue together for the big big heat. No problems so far. Still work great.

How long have you been running them like this? I haven't even ridden my sled yet, but think I might just do this before the season starts.

I just wish that I had a camera last year when I pulled a total of three blown up XP 800's back in the same weekend!
Let's just quote this one for posterity's sake..... Go Blue Dave!!!!

OK read this whole post...call me dumb too! I just bought this Nytro and it already has RSI warmers and carbon fiber bars installed. What do I need to do to make these grips warm? I don't have any of the RSI info and I assume the warmers were installed according to RSI instructions. Can somebody tell me how to wire them for warm hands?

If you just bought it why not try it how it already is and see if its enough for you? Im not sure how the carbon fiber bars are but i would think they would hold heat better then the stock ones? If it doesnt work as good as you want, change it then. if they arent wired red and blue together already, it doesnt take much to change it.

Just got to check it out today, red and blue are already together going to one wire and white to the other. Should be good to go for warm hands!
