as was posted haliburton forest in ontario is open and i put 100 miles on my 05 rx 1 on sunday. a little history i had a 03 rx1 completley stock except for a 9818 cammo 1.25 track and difference between the two sled is incredible! i,m going to go do some observations especially for setup and riding the sled for the new guys. i,m six feet tall and in riding gear about 210 lbs. the rear skid had the rear shock ski load set at no.4 and transfer rod set between minimum and standard .the front skis were set at standard preload. transfer was just right it would pick-up the front end and when you backed off the throttle it would drop back down great for cornering. you new guys use the engine braking for setting up going around corners. rear suspension i started with the adjuster in the middle and then gradually worked it to full soft. there wasn,t to much rough stuff but what i noticed was the seat just got softer without the suspension really dropping down (example f7 ) really different but in a good way. watch adjusting the clicker on corners or you could be in the trees! one thing i did notice you could hear the exhaust on this sled i think it is because the windshield is higher. the wind shield gives real good protection and the higher seat is nice. that ripsaw is incredible not only on hookup but also on corners. the stock skis were suprisingly good on the gromed trails but there was some side trails with about six inches of fresh snow and that is where the weight of the sled with the stock skis push the sled . the skis also dart a little on the trails. as for as driving the sled through corners and on the trails in feels really light still smiling! i going to set the preload to no3 next time out on the rear suspension and i,m waiting for some real rough stuff to try out this suspension. one final note i was with two buddys one on a fusion and one on a 05 f7 they lined up against each other from rolling starts and they were dead even and the then i lined up against the fusion and we were dead even! brand new sleds no studs 100 miles on each stock a little premix in the two strokes and the four stroke with only a 100 miles! temperature was arund 20 degrees.
