Even without understanding how to tweak my suspension yet, it is so much better handling and comfortable than my old sled... After reading too many of the posts on this site, i was getting worried about whether i made the right choice in buying this Nytro. Why do so many people spend a billion dollars upgrading a sled that is fine how it is? Why not just save the money for your next new one? For me i'll upgrade parts when they wear out or when i break em...
Some parts require upgrading. Crawl under your sled and see whats protecting the engine you like so much. Then take some time and read the 2 highlighted threads in my signature. Learn from people who have been there and paid the price.

Roest,
What is "required" vs desired are often up to the owner... For me, i'll upgrade when the part needs replacement. I'm not gonna take apart a brand new sled, replace every bushing and bearing, revalve or replace shocks, change the track, the skid, etc, etc, etc.. for questionable improvement over brand new stock parts..I did put a yamaha skid plate on my sled for $45, not the best money can buy, but looks decent and will provide more protection than stock. My impression after riding my sled twice now is that it is awesome how it is and that the complaining about yamahas and nytros in general is way overblown. Guess only time will tell if my inital impression is correct. My yamaha jet boat has not disappointed me at all and don't suspect my sled will either.

bjl1050,
At least take the Yamaha skid plate off and grind down the alum. sharp edge that could cut into the oil filter. Won't cost you anything and you'll ride down a field without the thought in your head, shoulda, coulda...

X2! A slight hole in that filter and 5000+ rpm and you will be pulling the motor apart.

I have never rode a sled with so much power!! It does have 192 studs and schmidt bros comfort clutch so i am sure that helps some. I am sold for life
