We had a huge snow storm here in Northern Ohio and I had a great opportunity to ride my new Candle apple red Apex XTX. Mostly heavy snow covered roads and a railroad bed.
I had a Attak GT and my friend who bought it rode with me so we had a chance to switch sleds. Switching sleds back and forth really shows the differences. The new Apex looks similiar to the Attak, but that is where it stops. I was really impressed with the quitness, better ride, and response of the Apex..Yamaha has done a great job in fine tuning a great sled. The Apex feels lighter, probably because of the power steering. The seating position feels a little higher. The Apex still has the stock windshield which I will change to the larger windshield as I did on the Attak. Makes a big difference in wind protection. I like tinkering with clutches, gearing, etc., but I my not have to on the Apex..The stock track seems to hook up pretty good, but I think a Cobra track is on my list as I also changed my Attak to a Cobra. I was getting some darting with the Apex even with duallies, but I may have to tinker with the limiter strap, etc. Eventually I will put my Curve skis on. Those of you debating to purchase the new Apex will not be disappointed.

The Yamaha Apex demos I rode in the spring had duallies installed on them. One did not but it told me that Yamaha had not totally cured the darting issue with the new skis.

cool to here the side by side comparsion. I had the chance to ride one last season but in a field only which is hard to compare. Glad you like it!
