First ride on Turbo.......Man I got questions!!!!

Your headgaket is leaking alittle bit, my Rx1 did this for over one year then it let go. I did not want to belive it but its was. My sled did not even use any coolant well may be 2 oz in 1,000 miles.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm too busy right now to look at anything, but as soon as I get a chance Lakeracer I'll check the things you mentioned and let you know.

turbo

Talked to mechanic at dealer today and he really knows his stuff. Says my problem is turbo is shot. He took compression on all cylinders and his gauge reads higher than mine. This is what he had:

#1 170lbs
#2 175lbs
#3 175lbs
#4 155lbs

Says reason #4 lower probably cause of scuff caused by engine problems received with stock pistons, hence the reason why they rebuilt it with low compression pistons, and the reason turbo no good, and the reason the guy traded it, and a sucker like me bought it. He's guessing particles from engine failure went in oil and ruined seal on turbo, now I'm not gettting the volume of air I should be. Also bad seal pushing oil into my intercooler plenum and out the crankcase vent. Also had a carb. T leaking.

Wondering if I should call dealer where I bought it? Told me it was mint and ran excellent. What do you guys think?

So now I need to know where's the best place to buy a Turbo and who has the best prices?

Thanks for all the help guys!!!!!!

I have a replaccement for your original 2554 that I can sell you. It is in perfect condition, but would prefer that you confirm that it is in fact the turbo that is a problem before I sell it to you.

The leaking carb T could be responsilbe for the bad cylinder, if it is on the #4 carburator.

I stock the billet carb T's and Billet carb caps, all Turbos and accessories.

Your mechanic called and discussed your sled with me, I agree with his findings.

Cool sounds like you found a good tech!! Get her fixed up buddy and go BOOSTING!! You will NEVER look back!

I don't know anything about turbos yet (ok, very little maybe), but if your dealer sold it to you as "mint"....I'd let him know what the real definition of that word is. Don't let him get away with pawning off something that is less than it was advertised. You may not get anything for it, but you at least need to give them the opportunity to do the right thing (and you'll find out how their business ethics really are!)

You actually don't need a whole turbo, just the core (CRHA). i have one of those as well for your turbo.

Can you post your phone number, I'd like to call you on that. If you rather not everyone see it, feel free to send me a pm. Thanks.
