Man this brings back memories from last year my apex and me found a nice mudd hole like this me and my buddy were balls deep in mudd and water we moved it 20 feet in an hour finally called our buddy Gus from maple motel in Bergland to tow me out we were only 50 ft off of m28.

My wife and I just got back from riding in the UP. We left from Watersmeet, headed towards The Root Cellar. The trail there was in pretty good shape for this time of year. Talked to a guy icefishing in front of the root cellar and said ice was ok there 2 layers of it though. He said people were running up to bergland on the lake and back. So we took the lake not a good idea, lots of slush, powder and OPEN HOLES. Boy was my wife mad at me, her renagade did better than my attak in that crap.
After we got off the lake we decideto take trail 13 back down, almost went too Hoop, glad we went the other way. Had lots of snow falling but it just turned to rain as we getting back to the truck. Put on 102 miles trhough.

We ran into a few non-frozen swampy areas last weekend around Trout Lake. I think they won't freeze solid unitl the end of January with the amount of snow on top.

That HOLE is most likley where they put a Piston Bully in and sunk it to the windows a few weeks ago, we talked to the man that owns the Hoop & Holler and also runs the trail system, he said it took them a while with a Skidder to get it out, thats why that trail isnt groomed and not ridden on alot, I know exactly where that is, my Nytro looked like a swamp buggy when the weekend was done, ALOT of swamp in that area.

Well George owns it & I was a bit miffed that he did not care that this trail is the access to his establishment and when I asked him to call the trail people to get this marked he said he did not know anyone to call. If this is where the machine went down it is rediculous that there is nothing marking it.

I agree with you, at least a caution ahead (water), I know thta my club is hard at work here in S. WI finding alternatives to some wet spots, I also have seen more water on our trails then ever before, seems to be the case all around here. I put our grooming tractor through 2ft. of water this weekend while finishing our last bit of staking, and some areas were un passable (soft mud). Its 7 degrees here today so that will help as temps will stay low for all of WI all week.

When we were going down trail 13 east side of lake gogebic there is still a gate across the trail in the middle of nowhere just enough room to get a sled trough. Also no tracks or groomer down it, but they said trails are open.

George at the Hoop is the trail man in that area! If he didn't do anything than he is the one f##king up! Thats just BS, TOTAL BS!

Thats what I said but he just said I could use the phone to call someone for help. Luckily I can't remeber his name but there was a guy there from the Ski-doo shop working on a Mach Z (broke down) and he got the guy out. I left and did not stop back so I don't know if they marked the trail.
