Started my diy turbo 08 nytro tonight and have some questions. When I start it up and at idle it is clean and free of smoke but when I give it throttle Smoke pours out the exhaust. Oil is also spitting out. How much oil pressure is coming from the motor? ( I am t'd in at the sensor). I had a facet pump hooked up but it really didn't seam to do much acted more like a restriction. Should the pressure coming from the motor to the turbo be restricted? I took the line off the turbo and it is pumping a ton of oil.
And just a side question. Does it matter witch way the oil lines go into the turbo delivery and return? Its just that the way I have the turbo mounted the original drain is on the top and the original intake side is on the bottom.
Does the way the side the oil is delivered to the turbo have anything to do with the ease of rotation of the wheels?
Thanks. I am using a 16t Mitsubishi turbo.[/i]

Well thecenter section needs to be "clocked" correctly! High pressure side should be facing up nad the return side down. Yes it matters! If it still pours smoke, you could have a blown seal and its draining oil into the compressor or exhaust side. You would then need a rebuild or new turbo.

Ok I can have it clocked. Where do I have to bring it. Also how much to rebuild a turbo? Is There a reason besides the size difference of the drain and the imput side of the turbo that would make it blow threw seals? Is not I may be able to build a different bigger sized fitting to go in place of the banjo fitting.
It seams like there is slot of pressure at the turbo is it suppost to be full engine oil pressure?

you should be able to clock it yourself easily enough. The drain needs to be at the bottom and I think it can have 15 degrees to either direction of straight down. The drain also needs to be larger, I have a 1/2 line for a drain. If your running a ball bearing I think that they want a .040 restrictor on the inlet side. There are guys who run the ball bearing with the oil injection pump on 2 smokes. The ball bearing really doesn't need pressure it just needs oil. I am assumming you have a rear or mid mount turbo and are using a return pump as well. If you have a journal bearing turbo you probally need 35 psi to it.

I have the exhaust housing and compressor housing in the place I want them and all the tubing fabled up to make them connect so how can I just twist the middle section? I know how to twist the exhaust side because I have done it but how do you twist the center without moving the compressor side? I don't have it infront of me right now so I can't look at it but is it the circlip on the compressor you remove?

Ok I just talked to a guy I know who knows about turbos and he told me how to twist the center. Any suggestions on what I should be using for a pump to return the oil? Trying to keep it as long cost as possible but if I need to buy an expensive pump I will.
Thanks.
