I've got a stock 07 Apex Mtn. What is the first thing you would change/add on it? for example, susp, track, skis, turbo, seat, etc. AND WHY?
Track- it sucks
Skis- Simmons float better for me
Seat- saves weight, sits higher and has storage
Susp- timbersled rear is -38lbs
Turbo- I want one

yes track sucks
ski's simmons gen 2 are nice
seat if your desperate to lose wieght
s/c unreal throtle response
and yes timbersled if your going boosted
gauges and the list can go on if you want it to.

Yea, I've read about the Maverick not being too good
Gen 2's would be nice
The seat can wait and the stock one has some storage
Probably go with turbo, just what I've read about S/C and climbing over on Snowest
I also read on Snowest to go with an M10 if your boosted and gonna climb, but curious as to why everyone chooses timbersled over say fabcraft or kmod, is timbersled the lightest?

Timbersled is cheapest-----and light.
M10 with the CR mods is the measuring stick for any Mountain turbo suspension
Kmod gen 2 is a full on turbo suspension with extra strength and a superb shock package .
I am building a Apex up right now.
-Got Gen 2 simmons skis
-Kmod Gen 2 skid-frame
-Barkbuster frond end
-Floats all around
-15 wide camo extreme Track
-Headlight delete (Mountain Mod)
-Drop brackets
- Sportbike exhaust
-Team secondary Drag and Fly weights
Maybe a turbo if My turbo RX1 sells.
I did Up the RX1 much the same way before boost and loved it just with the stock engine, it was spot on to compete with the 800-900cc 2 stokes.
Once you do the turbo no one wants to goof around with you anymore so last year I did ride the stock Apex a lot more than the turbo and had a lot of fun with my friends.
When you do go out with a bunch of turbos and have a friendly competition it becomes very serious very fast, not the easy going lets beat up on a hill that you are used to with stock or mod 2 strokes.
I like both so I am a tad torn on the subject.

Curious as to why you are choosing to go down to a 15" wide track instead of staying 16" wide?

I bet he meant 16" wide and 174" long track.......

The apex is a good sled, but the one thing I REALLY hated was the rack - it's useless, ugly, and gets in the way.
I cut these rails on a mill out of 2" x 1/8" aluminum. It's simple but opens up the back of the sled a lot.

If you ever ride a 15 wide you know why ----- handles like a dream in
comparison to 16 wide .
- track-speed is up - snow evac from under the tunnel is better
-climbs higher faster
- turns and side-hills like a Nyto with more power and is stable at high speed
The fun factor that is up the most

I would say best thing I did was exhaust & seat combo.
Whats wrong with the stock track? Mine works fine.

What makes the Camo extreme track so much better than stock Apex?
Or, what makes the Apex track (challenger?) track suck?

The stock Mav tracks paddles are to soft , bend over no hook up in comparison to others, and with the fingers it does not relay float in powder also, I feel it is to much of a compromise track that just doesn't perform well anywhere.
I had to turn mine around cause all the paddles bend over and a few rides it was good after about a month they were bend over the other way almost 90 degrees at the tip.
In deep wet snow the lack of clearance in the tunnel chockes the sled up power-wise. That is really noticeable at altitude.
That is why I went with the 15 wide it makes the sled way more lively
(clears out the snow better) and the Mav is heavy to.
