First warrior ride on snow.

RX1-snow: Clutch engagement is very close to stock and very smooth.
I am pulling about 6 lenghts by 60 mph and another 2-4 lenghts at 100mph.

My advice is to buy the kit from Matt and not fool around figureing it out. Spend that time riding. I feel it was money well spent. I am not a racer but I like to have all the performance I spent my money on with out loss of reliability.

Only you know if $400 is too much.

Thanks so much for your comprehensive reply! If I could bother you, or anyone else who might have the answer, one more time. I'm like you. I prefer the softest ride possible and accept that to get that occasional bottoming of the suspension is fine. I'm confused by your application of the FRA. You say that you set it to the MAX, which is opposite to what I thought would provide the softer ride. Any further light you could shed here would be most appreciated!
 
This may sound stupid, but what is the FRA? I just installed a 136" kit along with a Ohlins rear main shock and I want to get an idea where I should start with setting this new system up?
 
FRA= Full Rate Adjuster, It can be set stiff, mid and soft. If you look at the front of your rear shock, you will see a slotted bracket and a splined bolt that you just turn with a wrench. The top position is the firmist, and the bottom is the softest. Hope that helps...BBY

Hi: You are right Max FRA is a stiffer ride than LOW FRA. The clicker shock adds an additional demension to the systems adjustability.

What I was tring to say is the the spring is used to carry the load (static load). The shock dampans the bump or change in load (dynamic load effect).

I set the FRA to maximum because that gives the longest travel for the rear shock for a given spring deflrction. I then use the clicker addjustment to control the damping effect of the shock. More dampaning relates to a stiffer ride. We start low with the clicker adjustment and go up to increase the size bump you can hit befor the suspension bottoms out.

If we didn't have a clicker rear shock we would only have the FRA adjustment to control the damping effect of the load, like the 03 RX1. The clicker shock is the big improvement on the 04 warrior.

Is that clicker shock like the Ohlins, where you just turn the little knob to adjust the shock? If so, then I should be able to try your initial setup and go from there.
 
Focker; We put an Olins adjustable shock on a friends 03 RX1 and adjusted it the same way. The results were very good. What it does is let you pick your own dampaning rate so you can let the spring be just a spring to carry static loads.
 
Sketr2 How does the stock Warrior compare with your buddies sleds; the 800 Poo and Rev ( ride, speed, handling)? And are there sleds stock?

You've got that backwards. Bottom is the firmest.
 
So I should set my FRA to max, and the dampening to the softest...what about the spring tension on the main shock? Should I leave it where it is or adjust that too? I weigh about 180lbs.

Now is the time to adjust the rear of skid frame. Note that the load carrying ability of the skid frame was set in steps four and five above. Use the clicker adjuster to increase the dampening until you can ride over bumps of the size you think are reasonable. The key is reasonable and with in your speed range with minimal bottoming out. Remember the stiffer you make the clicker adjustment the less travel the suspension will have over a given bump size. Less travel relates to the stiffness of the ride. This adjustment controls the dampening effect in response to a bump.
