My buddy just came over with his new 2004 ZR 900. He said go get that new RX Warrior. I had just changed clutch setups Helix and springs with the Hammertime weights and it had not yet been tested. I did not know what to expect. So I said what the hell! We ran over 1000ft had a guy starting us off. We ran 6 or 7 times! The Warrior smoked him 5 to 6 sleds every time. (Later)

No he was not clutched and was not studded. I am not studded yet, tommorow I will be working with Hammertime and HH weights. If I come up with anything, thats good I will post it. He did not say to much, I am sure he will be back. I hope to be dialed in by then. He also has a new RX Warrior.

Did some thinking on the way Sketr2 adjusts his skids.
By putting the FRA in the lowest position, you increase the shock and the spring rate. Since he's got adjustable damping, he winds up with more load carrying capability this way.
I think you might have a softer ride if you left the FRA in the middle position, and tuned the damping for that setting. Leaving spring preload constant. This means that you aren't forcing the shock to move more quickly and bleed off more oil. I would think in very rough conditions, this would lead to over heated oil more quickly than the FRA being in the middle position.
There's alot of things at work here, and it might be just splitting hairs! But it's fun, and it's what we like to do here
Oh, if I had 2 identical Warriors to play with, I'd find out myself!
I keep thinking about Sketr2's set up, and I think it would be like riding a spring. Not much damping, and more than enough spring preload to carry the sled and rider...I guess I'm just wondering if there's more tuning in there, hehe.

Vmaxjohn: I concur. Lowest FRA possible (upper position), use the shock to prevent bottoming. Raising the FRA to maximum is what to do to *workaround* the deficiencies in the shorty shock - which is waaay too soft.

Hey Straightliner, It looks like the Warrior laid a wooping on the ZR900
A lot of people have a hard time believing this? So if it's true! And I don't doubt it because I have one too! And to me it feels very fast 8) Was that ZR 900 running up to snuff? And you have to wonder what happened at the AM shootout today  The RX-1 did better last year than it did this year
