Broke the side panel pin that pushes into the rubber round cromment, anyone have a solution for fixing this? Pulled the panel when it was real cold and the pin snap off at the base. POS design.

if you figure it out we got one that has a broke one too.just been dealing with it.
I fixed one on a dirt bike with JB weld---- then just remember to keep the rubber grommets lubed so the tab pops in and out easily.
also fixed a larger one with screwing a small screw into it...then cutting the head off the screw and screwing on the small broken part on along with some epoxy...this way it was pined and glued...

I fixed mine by drilling a small hole through the centre and threading a metal screw through the pin into the base, and then using epoxy (lots of it) to bind it all together. Make sure you clean all the plastic and rough it up before gluing. Has lasted a few seasons now without problems.

Simply drill a small pilot hole, then an appropriate sized head, stainless screw (cut to length) into the hole. Adjust for pentration into the gromet, done!
If the base got ripped off too, then quick setting two peice epoxy is excellent.

Are you saying you run a screw thru the old pin into the side panel and the old pin with the screw head buried in it engages the grommet?
Mine pin was bent and I used a heat gun to warm it to reposition it. After it cooled it held the new alignment. Hopefully it stays that way and the pin doesn't break, needing the suggestions above!

Thanks for all the replys, decided to drill a hole in the piece and the base and used a stainless steel screw and epoxy, we'll see how this holds up, seems pretty firm at this point, but time will tell.
The one recommendation of using grease in the rubber crommet is one thing else I will do, this pin broke off when I tried to remove the panel by pulling straight back to release the pin from the crommet.
