I'm wondering if anyone out there has come up with a decent fix for the knobs on the inside of the gas tank shroud? It's the spot where you hook the side panel. I had one of these crack at the joint a few years back and I glued it back in place and that seemed to work for a while, but now that knob is MIA, so my side panel doesn't lock in like it should.
I'm keeping an eye out for a used shroud in good shape, but just curious if people have come up with some creative fixes for this.

I broke mine off and made one out of metal. The backing plate that I attached to the shroud was approx 1.5" square and drilled full of holes. roughed the back of the shroud with coarse sand paper, then fiber-glassed it in place. It has been there for 4years now.

When i snapped mine, i drilled a hole through one of mine and used a Chicago bolt and set in in with two part epoxy, painted Yamaha blue and it did the trick. It was discrete and held up nicely. You will have to cut the length of the bolt just right. I trimmed mine off with the dremmel.

Sorry guys. Tried from iPhone unsuccessfully
I had a repaired tab (JB Weld) for 2 seasons. It broke again this season so I made a new tab buy using a screw, various washers to spread the force, a spacer and a blind nut on the end. The exterior appearance matches my map holder snaps and does not bother me at all.

You might want to apply for a job at Arctic Cat...JK. javascript:emoticon('

Seriously though, good option, doesn't look bad and its better than having the side panel flop around!

I machined a couple of buttons and threaded them with a 10x32, then I got some SS button heads with flat washers and will drill the shroud then screw them in place.
