Hey guys just giving you all a report on Fix Motorsports Apex Clutch Kit,i have tried some other kits out there and the cutting the clutches trick didnt sit well with me as i was going through belts every 300 miles,With this Clutch kit there is no need to cut clutches since in the kit you use all your stock clutches with some changes no cutting!!!! and i can tell you that since this kit there was a buddy i ride with who has had the best working 06 RTX that ive seen and he used to pull me by lenghts going across the lake...... NOT ANY MORE !! i am so happy with the way this kit works on and off the trails that for once i have bought a clutch kit and have not felt cheated of my money. Tim at Fix Motorsports took the time to explain what the kit consisted of "For Over An Hour I Might Add" also took the time to explain exactly what this kit can accomplish and for me a guy who knows Nada about Yamaha Clutching i felt like i was really informed and knew what i was buying before i spent my money!!! Fix Power sports KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK and customer service and to Tim i thank you sir.

Thanks!!
Tom

here is the link to Fix Power Sports http://www.fixpowersports.com/ the gentlemans name is Tim and he will help ya with all the info,to answer your question on is it easy to do the only big thing is to find a freind with a grunt tool to seperate the primary clutch or have your dealer seperate it.
Why do ya need to take the sheaves apart for, does he install a speed sheave?

ya need the sheaves apart for the new split collar
Did you measure his stoppers/split collors,as stock stoppers are .200 thousand thick,i am sure he has ground material off them, question is how much and why?

Glad that kit is working for you Tom :flag:

Definitely a different approach for a clutch kit and now we see it’s a strong runner!

See you on the weekend...

i also have that in my attak. this kit really rocks, have 23/40 gearing and a track with 44 mm luggs the boys atr fix now their works, i will now try the ecu box that they have to the apex

Hey guys..

Yup Toms kit works!......FIX's New approach to a clutch kit is different to say the least...this kit is not a typical clutch kit,and you will be surprised at what comes in the kit...as Tom said the biggest thing to know is youll need to separate the REAR fixed sheave with a GRUNT TOOL,this can be done by SOME dealers(not all)

Cant give away all thats in the kit,so youll have to Call TIM and buy it and see for yourself...the key to this kit is the WIDE BELT,and TIMS Fresh approach to this clutch kit..love this fresh approach!

There will be NO DOUBT that this kit will get full shift with the 23 gearing, which is the biggest problem with gearing down...

no cutting of primary is nice!

kudos to Tom and FIX powersports

Great post Tom

Which number kit is being talked about here? Where can I get Yammie clutch tools, like a holder plate, grunt tool etc? Only Yamaha? Will any Polaris clutch tools work?

Hi,

We have the clutch puller tool available but you will still need the grunt tool to seperate the clutch which we do not sell and costs quite a bit of money. Your local Yamaha Dealer should be able to do this for you if you bring your clutches in for a reasonable price. If you have any questions feel free to call me at 507-775-7242 or pm me. The R4 is for the Apex and the R5 is for the Attak.

I do not have these kits yet on our site as we are revamping the site. You can read info under preferred vendor under Fix Power Sports.
