i installed the front & mid wheel kits on my 07 attak.
have about 3000 kms on them, the mid are fine, the fronts....both wheels lost all the rubber off them. i installed per locations on the instructions (pretty fool proof). limiter strap is lowered 1 hole from stock.
i have 162 picks down the middle. anyone have any info on how long these wheels should last ? i am surprised they went so quick. i have e-mailed fix 2 times on the issue in the last 2 weeks and had no reply.

one other thing, the machine is in on warranty for both skid rails being cracked, will these added wheel kits void the warranty ? cracks are not near the kits, but yamaha seems to find any reason to deny fixing the problems with their products.

Unfortunately, modifying any component on the vehicle may result in loss of warranty of that component. Good dealers that know what is going on should let it slide. Hope you got one. ;)!

Wheels

Same exact problem with front mounted wheels in the skid. Both wheels lost the rubber on them and no longer have any use. Track was run on the loose side since I have extroverts. I have never had any luck with smaller wheel kits lasting.

Same thing happened to my mid and Fix replaced them.

I used Fix's kit on my skid between the rear idlers and the bumpstops with poor results. The wheels delaminated and lost all rubber in under 100 miles.

At 80mph these wheels spin at almost 9,800 rpm! Now add the stress of rolling over trail debris (snow, ice, sand, pebbles, etc) and stud backers (for those with studs) and you've got a recipe for failure. I now realize that I should have done this math and drawn this conclusion before I bought the kits. Oh well!

While I am disappointed that these wheels did not last long, I do understand the stress that they are under. These are made by PPD which is a premium manufacturer of wheels, so knowing that this brand does not last, I feel that a wheel of this size is just not feasible.

I contacted Fix about the issue and never received a reply. I'm not sure what they could have done about ti considering what I described above, but I am surprised that they did not respond to my complaint.

I've experienced LOTS of ICE build-up on those smaller idler wheels and they get JAMED up and stop SPINNING and start to heat up due to FRICTION on the rubber track and delaminate and fall apart, and like "garserio" said above being so small they SPIN at an ultra high speed when your doing 100mph + down your favorite lake.

Ya in the last 6 Months Fix has become unrealiable i have been waiting for a new belt since JAN needless to say does anyone Need a clutch kit thats short a drive belt worked well if only i could get a belt from Fix he told me back in Jan he sent one i asked what address he sent it to and he gave me somewhere oyt west i said hey man i live in Ontario you know where ya sent all my orders last year geez so im done with Fix save your money all!!! hes lost his Customer service touch this year FOR SURE!!!

The new 8DN 01 belt is the same as FIX from what I was told.

As small as those wheels are they have to be spinning at super high revolutions especially when your doing over 70 mph. 2.5" wheels spin 8320 times in a mile, 5" wheels 4160 times in a mile and 7" wheels 2971 times in a mile. I’m surprised they last as long as they do. I went with the ski-doo boggie wheel mounts and their 135mm wheels. I am also going to add the ski-doo wheels and mounts in front of the rear wheels.

at this point i regret buying the product. i have tried to contact fix 4 times now and they do not reply.
do not buy there products.

I tried mounted my mid wheel kits on the inside of the rails but found that they were going to contact the rubber track guides. Wonder if this could be causing the delamination issues some of you guys are seeing. I mounted mine on the outside of the rails and after two seasons they still look like new.
