I have to replace a flex pipe. Any tips and tricks to getting the bolts out without breaking them? I have pb blaster and map gas.

Well that will give you an excellent start on them bolts. Make sure they glow cherry red before attempting to turn them.

Gently rotate whole clamp and grab the head with vise grips to break it loose, then use allen. Soaking with blaster of course will help

i warmed head around bolt with oxy torches pretty warm then used swivel and ext like hensel said, all came out good like that, alinium will expand fast away from bolt but get to hot iv seen threds come out with bolt!!

When you put those bolts back into the head are you going to use some high heat anti-seize or just put them back in? Im in the same boat as you with a broken flex pipe. Thought it was my donuts or flanges but that stuff was all mint.

i installed mine with nversieze, it was a no brainer for me, cant see why u woulnt? they arnt gonna rattle out!!

Update: it was easier than I thought. A little heat and pb blaster bolts came out with no issues I did however find another bad one glad I ordered two

Got her back together sounds and runs great. Gonna order two more.

Update! Don't buy em used. They are just gonna break again. The one I bought last year were broken this year. I just ordered all 4 brand new from Port yamaha for 400 bucks.
