SledToyz.com has decided to add Socket Head Cap Screws (Allen head) to the product line up after a trip to the local Lowes suggested they wanted $1.50 ish for 2 of these suckers. So I've ordered some screws and will hopefully get them by the end of the week. Pricing is on the site, I should be able to vacuum pack them and the shipping inside Canada via lettermail will be around $2.00
I realize this won't be for everyone, but not all of us Canadians have access to hardware stores that carry these screws at a reasonable cost.
Under 'mechanical' on http://www.sledtoyz.com

Good idea. Those philp screws are junk. Couple yrs ago I did the same, put allen screws in the bowls. Have you found any screws that would work for the carb caps?

I'll have to take a look at those as well, thanks!
Yup the allen head screws for the bwls is a much much better way to go. I change the the carb clamps to allen heads as well instead of pissing around with phillips.

From the Sledtoyz website:
These replace the float bowl screws on your Yamaha snowmobile with easy to remove Socket head Cap screws (Allen head). In varying quantities depending on whether you have a twin, triple, 4 stroke or multiple of each. Includes a couple extra, just in case you lose one or two.
count numbers as follows:
10 (twins with 2 extra screws)= $2.50
14 (triples with 2 extra screws)= $3.50
20 (two Twins + extras) = $4.60
28 (Two triples +extras) = $6.44
50 because you like screws = $10.00
the shipping on these SHOULD be around $2.00 in Canada and $3.50 to USA but I have to confirm weights. The shipping would be Lettermail to both and you would have to anticipate the related delays due to that. I based the quantities for the smokers since the seem to be into the carbs more frequently. Obviously the RX1's will need 16 each.

I'll have to poke around on this a little more, those are 'interesting' screws.
There very odd screws on the carb caps. Likely been 2 yrs or since had the float bowl allen screws out, they broke loose like nothing with an allen wrench. The carb caps was a fight, thought was going to break something. Finally got them to loosen off, phillps screws suck!. Good to hear that your still looking, thanks.

Kitchen,
Yours went out yesterday, they are now at the mercy of the US Customs/postal system. Hopefully they don't dilly dally too much. Let me know when they get there.

This is a great idea! I did this to my SX years ago. Also just replaced some of the bolts in my M10 with socket heads. Thanks Mr. Sled.

Crewchief47, My screws just arived today and I have enough to share, just in time to because I took the carbs off the Warrior to add the K&N's and had to take the dremil to one of the screws to slot it and it is now a flat head screw. This will save alot of headaches going forward. Thank You!

Cool! So about 8 days to Maine. Not too bad I guess, considering the border.
