I have 2000 miles on my 08 RTX and it is getting closer and closer to feeling comfortable. I think I have the rear skid suspension set-up to my liking, but I am not convinced on the floats yet. I have run a lot of different settings on air pressure, and I found that running about 38 PSI is what handles best. If I get anywhere above 40 I get a lot of inside ski lift. To me, it sounds crazy to run 38 PSI, but that is what works. I am a bigger guy, but tend to run my settings softer than others.
Has anyone switched out their floats for GYTR's on an RTX? I am either thinking of switching or buying the add-on resi's....
Thanks!

We run our floats at 100psi , but have the added Hygear res.
We also run nitrogen , they don't change with outside air temp !
The added volume allows the shocks to use all the travel , will not botton , and are not so abrupt in a big hole.
The added bonus with 100 lbs , NO body roll !

Rode the 08 Nytro with floats & GYTRs back to back.
I liked GYTRs no comparison. Much more forgiving & floats were harsh shocks. Floats fun for jumping but rest of the time GYTRs performed better in bumps & trail conditions. Test ride sorted this out for me makes XTX spec look good but still need to test ride. For me GYTRs only way to go.

My dealer bought a Nytro, and he bought the Standard, becuase he said the RTX he has rides like crap on the trails. He strongly suggested I buy the GTYR's, so It works out great with the XTX!

Rode the demo FX Nytro with the clickers after riding my RTX with the Floats and the clickers were tippy but take the smaller trail chatter better.
The 08 FX sleds have front end issues which mabey make the shocks not work up to the full potential.
The floats won't bottom.Clickers can and do on a heavy sled when pushed.
You will get people who either love or hate either shock.Everyone rides different.
I have the Hygear air chambers on my FX Nytro RTX Floats.
Both shocks can be made better.
Hygear has improvements for both.
