SE Float X shocks on a 08' RTX

Fiche diagram for the 2005 Arctic Cat Sno Pro Float X. The major internal differences are the 3 port aluminum piston with o-ring backed wear strap, valve stacks, and obviously the adjustments.

i have 4000kms on my float xs this year on my 2008 nytro and i love them way better than my floats last year which i put 5000kms on . i couldnt belive some of the stuff they soaked up when i thought i was a goner . huge massive upgrade . but for the money hygear could rebuild your floats for cheaper .

you can buy them from yamaha there not in the nytro rtx section of there site you have to go to mtx nytro section and you can find them there ( on the canadain site ) .ca

The EVOL's have a reservoir on the bottom of the shock as well, I thought? I have been looking at them as well, but I thought the Float's have no reservoir, the X's have one and the EVOL's have 2?

Evols have 2.The bottom one (evol)is basicly a adjustable bumpstop.Allows you to run less air in the main chamber to control ride height without bottoming out.

I would like to hear some of your guys Float X clicker setups. I've been playing with mine a lot trying to get them set up right for me.

For those with the SE Float X shocks...
How much pressure are you running?
compression clicker position?
rebound clicker position?

I'm looking for the best setup for repeated mogul bashing(1-3 ft. moguls).

I've been playing with my shocks a bunch the last couple weeks. 100 PSI, compression 6 from firmest, rebound 8 from slowest. This has been a good setup so far for big jumps. I'm not 100% clear on the rebound and compression adjustments though, I just played with them until it felt good.

Edited: Fox has an awesome online manual that explains rebound and compression in a very simpler manner.

I started low and built my way up to 110. Not sure how high to go, but the more air I add the better for hard trail riding cornering. set the compression and rebound at factory, air seems to make much more of a difference. Will keep raising it.

I now have at least 1200 miles on mine. I know I'm around 85 to 90 psi in them and I can't remember where the compression and rebound are set. I really don't care because the thing rides so much better in the front end compared to the 08 stockers. I have pounded these things thru some whooped out sections around Munising and they seem like they can take alot more than what I want to dish out. And in normal trail chatter they're way more civilized than the 08 floats.
