Shouldn’t have much trouble in 2 feet of powder just have to keep the beast moving. But the weight will tire you out. I busted trail non stop on 50 miles of FR and I was beat.

Yes and no usually hardpak somewhere in a ditch depends on where you can get traction. Xtx doesn’t ghost ride which is about the worst thing that can happen in powder. Xtx goes where you steer especially with STsSo hopping in a ditch with three feet of snow is a bad idea ok thanks.

We’ve had a xtx in our group for 8 years. In the UP powder it didn’t get stuck much if at all. The 1.75 was a beast in the powder the last 2 years. 1.25 prior to that.

my 2011 apex xtx with the stock 1-1/4" track on it has broken over 100 mi of trail each season since new. with stock skis, yes it nose dives in powder off of throttle but still worked fine.

The oem ripsaw is a poor loose/deep snow track and the oem skis don't float well either.
And the XTX is HEAVY.
Curve XS skis help float the front a lot better and any track with a full block type pattern is better than the ripsaw in loose/deep snow.
Trail breaking where there is something underneath you will do fine but if you start truly off trail riding the weight and poor track performance will have you buried and stuck bad at some point.
As said, very tiring sled to off trail ride too...the weight iswhatitis.

It’s not a floater but has length and power so does well in deep Midwest snow. On the power and stop pointing down hill and you will do well in non mountain bottomless snow.
