I just came back from 3 days in the UP running with a guy on a 2014 sno pro 800 with a supposed 160+ hp. we raced many times on the lakes and flowages. his sled anytime we were off hard packed trails could not go over 80 mph. On Sunday with 2' of fresh powder he could not get it over 70. On the hard packed trail was seeing 97.

I seen 97 today on mine in 1000'..a few days ago was only seeing 85. Running on same condition. All I did was soften up suspension and add 1 extra set of wheels on the skid. The sled may be sensitive to different snow conditions but in 2' of fresh snow there isn't many sleds at all that are going to see speeds over 80 without big hp. Getting this chassis to roll and spin freely is what I'm finding out has the biggest gains for speed

Well he is 160 and I am closer to 190 but he is 40 lbs light and running a 129" 1-1/4" track but it still did not help him. My camera battery was dead from the cold but I would have had to mount it backwards to see the results.

Both Yamahatim and I have run f1100 turbos with supposed 220 hp and they did not stand a chance.

Ya know they said the same thing! I think it was he had a bit of stumble at launch then the turbo came on too hard and broke traction then his goggles fogged and the gas was lower octane than he usually runs. Heck the one that Tim beat did not even go back to the bar and pay hi tab his buddies had to do it for him he was so mad he just kept going.

That is true! He was mad! Even his buddies we laughing saying what a baby. The 1100 turbo has a weak motor to begin with, so our Viper with the awesome 1049 that we have to start with is much stronger. We only need 6 pounds of boost to make compatible hp as the cat with 15 pounds of boost stock. No compression in the 1100 motor. That's why they can get away with a lot more boost. Out of the hole the 1100 has no chance. They might have a higher speed at the end of the 1/4 mile but I will pass the finish line first by around at least 4-8 sleds ahead. Now this a trail tune that I raced. His friends said it was 230 hp. I don't know the truth because he never came back. He had crazy studs I just have a ice ripper 1.6 track. Not saying there slow by any means. Just not as fast this time as my MPI turbo Viper LTX SE.

I just ordered DuPont hyfax and 4 additional wheels so that I won't have any sticking from my track to the hyfax.

After 700km, I get the oil changed and I adjusted the throttle wire that was too loose. The throttle bodies could'nt been in the full open position by a bit. I was seeing 8500 at wot. Now I am turning 88-8900! I was waiting for that since day 1. It feel like it is 20hp stronger!! Now I am really happy with the sled and I can hit 155km/h all day long in any hard packed short stretch. Can't wait to see if I could hit 165km/h on hard packed trails.

That's awesome, maybe I should go check mine maybe I might get some more out of her. I like HP
