Tearing things apart too adjust the idle and I decided too hunt down the steering slop problem.
Luckily,it looks like just a loose nut on the top of the steering linkage assembly.
In the picture your can see how the nut backed down to the cotterpin, thank god it didn’t come all the way off.
Gonna locktite and tighten her up, might do the same for the other linkage bolts as well.

That's the reason the put the cottorpin there. I used red Loctite on just about everything I use and if I have to heat it to get it off I will do that. I do not like things coming undone that aren't supposed to come undone.

Sweet tnks for the replies, upon further inspection it appears no amount of tighting makes a difference ,looks like I’m gonna have too replace the whole dog bone piece .Probably, oem part, guessing the nut loosened off and probably accelerated the wear n tear because the sled only has 5000 kms on her. Man that’s not an easy task either trying too remove those suckers. Cheers.

Check if the holes got egged out by the loose bolt. That dogbone was made the same way as the tie rod ends with a narrow wear area which wears quickly. That's why I went with the rose joints. Still solid.

Yes, totally, that’s exactly what happened, I’m just reading the thread and reading the manual trying too make sense of what everyone is talking about. Lol, part wise. I might as well replace the top two dog bones since it’s tore apart, and go from there. Man the information on here is incredible, you guys have her nailed down. Tnks for the help try8ng too learn lots.

8000 miles on mine and the upper dogbone is the loosest part on my steering system. Replacing it along with the 2 inner tierods before the season. I spray white lithium grease on all the unprotected joints every few rides and its really seemed to help them last quite awhile. The ONLY steering parts I've changed so far is installing the Upbushman kit.

Good call on the white lithium grease, that’s great stuff.
Got my part ordered 125 Canadian smackers ,hopen that the new one lasts longer than 5000 kms, but the loose nut is what I attribute the accelerated wear.
Once I took the steering rod out and upon further inspection, it, it’s no surprise moose man and others are going with a rose style dog bone end.
I’m debating now on what type of locktite, I’m thinking blue, because gett8ng a torch too loosen a red locktite is a tricky spot with the gas tank so close ,if I had too remove the steering rod part again.
Cheers Peeps.
