I lost my rear suspension on the trail today, it was completely collapsed. When I checked the pressures of both shocks they were right where they were supposed to be. I know nothing about these shocks so I am wondering what could be the problem.
When I remove them will I be able to get them out without removing the rear suspension if I take all the air out of them.

What machine are you talking about. With the rear suspension completely collapsed how did you move or drive the machine to the nearest pick-up location.

It’s a 2017 BTX. It was still drivable. Had no issues driving or moving it just didn’t have any suspension. The track was a bit loose but I just went slow and had no issues at all.

Skid needs to come out. I can't imagine attempting to remove shocks with skid in the machine. Service bearings while shocks are getting re-built. Might as well do the fronts too.

Wasn't sure if the rear end was dragging on the ground. I have a 2018 Vector with the up dated single shock & I hope if the shock fails I will be able to drive it back home or to the nearest town.

When we bought our 16 Vector 129, I asked the dealer to install the newer air shock under warranty. Dealer said only the Apex was being switched to the newer shock at no cost. Dealer said if shock fails, a new shock would be installed. Just 1,000 miles out and it failed plus taking out the cooler one mile from our trailer via the studs. We were about one mile from our trailer. Under warranty, the new updated shock was installed plus a new cooler and additional hyfax was placed around the cooler. Also our dealer through in a set of Duponts. You should consider the new updated shock as the sled will be very difficult to move without damaging the rear of the sled.

When I bought my 2018 Vector dealer put on the up-dated shock at no cost.
