Fox Float Air Shock Tips
To check the pressure in your float shock, the front of the sled must be off the ground. Failure to unload the front suspension will cause improper settings. Most shocks have been set to 70 psi and operating range is 50-150 psi. All changes to shocks should be done in 5 psi increments.
FYI it takes 3 to 4 psi to fill the pump chamber, therefore with the gauge attached to the shock reading 60 psi, you actually have 63-64 psi. Also you will not loose any air when disconnecting. When setting your shocks, air pressure its best to do so in normal operating temperature of the sled. Every 50 degree of temperature will change the shock pressure by 5 psi. Suggested annual maintenance would be to clean the outer air sleeve and seals. The internals of the shock should be service by a certified technicians every 3000 to 5000 miles.
