Fox Float Air Shocks vs. Ohlins

Replacing that WORTHLESS stock rear shock is the best upgrade you could have done to that sled with the ProActive skid IMO. If you didn't ride it first, you won't know the difference, but the change for me was amazing.

I've never had Fox floats, but totally agree that it is old technology. VERY small air volume means a very slight air loss will greatly affect the sled. My friend has them on his new Cat and he bought air reserve reservoirs for them. They're funny because the reservoirs aren't much bigger than a fountain pen. He ended up losing air on the ride and the front sagged.

What's the model # for your Öhlins rear shock? And do you have a short or long track Vector??

Searched the Öhlins web page and only found this one for the short RS Vector 2005-06

His photo shows a ProActive skid so it's part #YA562 which is for a 121" which came on the Vector in '05 (and '06 Vector Std, w/o reverse)

So no Öhlins for the Mountain??

Application states 2005 Vector (All) 2006 Vector (Std) and '06-'07 Nytro for this shock. Not sure what the '05 ProMountain skid is like, but it doesn't look like the have a rear shock for it.

The floats are better IMO.Rode with both.Upgrade the rear shock to a ohlin or a nytro shock.
