Replacing that WORTHLESS stock rear shock is the best upgrade you could have done to that sled with the ProActive skid IMO. If you didn't ride it first, you won't know the difference, but the change for me was amazing.
I've never had Fox floats, but totally agree that it is old technology. VERY small air volume means a very slight air loss will greatly affect the sled. My friend has them on his new Cat and he bought air reserve reservoirs for them. They're funny because the reservoirs aren't much bigger than a fountain pen. He ended up losing air on the ride and the front sagged.
