I'm hoping to get the New Apex Mnt SE with fox floats and have read in other places of concerns for there ability to be dependable for years. The seals and o-rings were at question. How do you guys like them and have you had any issue's with them , concerns or thoughs I might use in my decision to go with them or just the regular Apex Mnt. .

Well, considering our winter back east, there's not much riding to test durability of these shocks. I have under 700 miles, the lowest mileage total this late in the season in five years!

Like I said, can't say much about durability...but, so far, I love these shocks. They are the reason I picked the RTX over the Apex and Attak. The 6 or 7 lbs. they take off the front end is surprisingly noticeable. They absorb bumps independently like no other snowmobile front end I've ridden. With our thin snow this year, we have a lot of trails that are thin on the outside of turns where they are banked, and deep on the inside where moguls forms...sometimes 18 inches of bump under one ski, smooth under the other. These shocks just soak up the bumps without affecting the other ski or handlebars. Really incredible. I have the stock amount of air in them, never inflated or deflated them.

I wouldnt trade them for any other shock. Ive had no air loss issues, they take the bumps like nothing else and still ride plush and bottoming out never crosses my mind.

Fox floats weigh in at 2.6 lbs each, GYTRs weigh in at 4.8 lbs each.
No 6 o7 lbs difference .,more like 4.40 lbs

The floats have been very Nice, 1500 miles of pounding on the RTX and no problems, They are very easy to dial in and seem very reliable....

Only 743 miles on mine but the nytro wouldn't be the same sled without them. No issues for ride, handling or durability.

My buddy has a 05 F7 SP with the floats... HE likes them alot.. ive rode it too... Are they better than the GYTR's? I dont know too close to say...

He has had to add air several times... One of them was half flat once..

The thing i dont like about them is the more air you add to them... the higher the sled sits... and when you take air away the sled sits low..

I have 2,100 miles on them. I checked them at 2,000 miles and they had lost 5 psi each (55 down to 50) - I think the tmeperature had a lot to do with it though (air compresses when colder...) I like keeping them real low on air so the sled handles on rails with no ski lift, but I still don't bottom them out when popping over a quick jump... I think at the end of the year they will need quite a bit of service, cleaning and rebuild but thats minimal compared to the performance.

wow , thx for all the feedback!

THX everyone for the results....they sound great and with our conditions would be great. Alot of our daily rides can end up being well over 200 miles in the mountains and the old mountain max was a beast to ride after a long day in the steep and deep :o| ......I can't wait .....yee ha!
