thats a good question I have a pair of older boxed float meaning I bought them from the dealer in a box and they where not on a machine like the pair I have on my rtx well funny thing I rebuild the first set I bought affter market for 05 er rx1 mono er skid I just rebuilt them about a month ago and all went pretty wellconsidering I had never did a pair of floatsbefor.I called fox factory and they were pretty closed liped about it and told me to call mike carver and I did and he walked tru the best he could over the phone his time is pretty valuble but I highly regard carver performance if you are in the neck of the woods real nice people great service and web sight check it out some time. Ok got my floating piston dept and tools I needed and how much psi of nitigine floats call for I talked with five different repair stations including factory where a little more to it than most shock called for 7.5 wt shock oil heven forbidd I use cat oil for there floats nice stuff. you need a right kind of assembly oil thick cross between grease and oil for air chambers and put about 10 units from a kids medicine siringe about a table spoon . I notice that alot of orings fit from my master techsyn oring kit replaced with what I had there where a few band on air chamber I did lot have and need to get the samarie seal also but old one where good looking so reused them greace up all set floating piston dept booted shock with the persribed 200 psi of nitrigine and grease air camber well and booted with 75 psi of nitrigine and was good to go installed on 05 er rx1 and rode the sled it rode devine boy was I glad, Tonite I have myrtx fox floats apart and lord and behold they had the rebond spring inside like the fire cat sno pros shocks there are about 5 flavores floats the way they are desighed inside so ansered my own question about valving there are not the same as the floats you buy in a box over the yamaha counter if you want the nicer set up get rtx replacement shocks bet the price is higher need to check this out. Now to the question the gent askes I think there is a diff but am running aftermarket on my rtx now as I have more than one set ride no diff look no diff maybe my rtx sit .75 inchs higher in the front but cant see it by looking with bare eyes I old do see so well any way dropped a valve stack on the floor tonight boy was that fun but got shim reading from other shock and saved my butt waiting to hear for email am going to drop one smallest shim on damping side to stiffen ride but have been told floats are touchy to shim changes will find out let you guys know hope I am not boaring you guy with my poor writing I love to turn wrenchs that all and not afraid of anything other than cranks and trannys dont go there kim

Yea they are way differant than the fox that come standard on the 06 rtx,as i bought a pair off the net, installed them and almost got killed,as they are set 1.5 inches to long, and when front end is in the air they bind up bad on all the linkage that steers the sled,so i took them to a shock service tech. who is a friend, and he will set the proper depth and overall length. They were like 17.4 overall length.
