Has anyone removed the swaybar and increased the air pressure in the front shocks ???? What kind of results did you get ???? What is the highest pressuse that you have run in the Floats ??? They say you can run 150 psi....I am wondering if the increased pressure will keep the front end stable in the corners and still be independant up front for the bumps??????

if you want to make it turn and stay flat..you need to lower pressure to 35-40lbs without weight on it....you need A arms level to ground..this helps Immensly....I rode many sleds with 65+ lbs and near flipped them over...horrible.....

for even better cornering you can add 13mm swaybar, this makes it an incredible railing sled...

all this is with pilot skis and shaper bars...with Yammie skis i cant guarantee any of this, cause anytime ive rode an apex with yammie skis i want to puke..lol

see pic below..this is how a well setup rtx is in front end..we lowered the GT later that day to where the RTxs are,and it also rails now....Dano(member) on left and My RTX center and Kyle(member) GT to right....Dorset,Ontario on saturday....click the pic for a larger view.

Looking for better bump handling and don't want to loose cornering...I'll adjust my style of riding to keep thed cornering under control but need to know if anyone has tried removing the swaybar and increased the air pressure

removing sway bar would be crazy IMO.

you need MORE sway bar not less...floats are stiff at low or high pressure...just changes height more or less.

I'm hoping to try to disconnect the swaybar linkage and increase the Floats to 70-75 lbs this weekend and next week. Going on a boone-docking trip, and hoping to get this Attak to change directions easier in the deeper snow. As far as on-trail stuff, I'd have to beleive it's best to stay with the sway! Has anyone else any experience with what i have just metioned about disconnecting the sway bar????

Well, I took Dan's advice last week and purchased the 13mm sway bar lowered fox floats to 45 lbs, WOW! I just bought a new sled for the cost of a sway bar! I also run the Apex Mountain skis with 6" triple bergstroms...now going to 8" due to 168 studs. You won't sacrifice front end due to the 13 mm sway bar is now "linking" both shocks more, like a coupling effect. I found no difference in handlebar feed back as well. Great setup! Listen to Dan, he's right on!

i found out on last trip that my sway bar snapped and it didnt effect the handling one bit which surprised me.this is on a 05 rage with floats @75lbs.now on my attak last year i tried it and almost killed myself.all i can think is the floats dont let it dive in corners.

Just to add my .2c. I think its also a good idea while front end is lowered is to pull up limiter straps so that there is equal ground pressure on front and back of track. This is easy to test on a hard packed road or garage floor. When adjusted, it will give great traction for hole shots with the transfer set to full.
Oh, and another good idea is to add a skid plate while the front is low to the ground and vulnerable. Couldn’t help to notice that 2 of the 3 above apex’s in the pic are both missing skidplates. lol

My RTX has the C&A XT skis. What a work out! lol

We rode 221 miles on Friday....what a beating. There is enough snow....but no base. When you did see a groomer, the snow was so soft, the track would spin. Not a lot of fun. Lake of Bays is soft in spots too!
