So far thiis year he has had only one out of 5 trips that the sled hasn't had some kinda of trouble. I feel pretty bad because I recommended to him to buy the vector over the RX1. This weekend was the worse. He ended up pushing my new RX1 back to camp. 600 miles on the sled and the motor blew up. 5 miles down the trail and the sled died. We lifted the hood and there has to be a hole somewhere because there was oil everywhere. His main problem the first 3 rides was his TORS and the sled would back fire. He said he had a hard time getting it started when he took it off the trailer that morning. He said he had to restart it 3 times before it idled good.

If that's all it is that would be an easy repair. Probably just some blown seals etc... I hope you are right because we have another trip planned in 2 weeks.

rhoag; don't trailer with more than 1/2 tank of fuel unless you install fuel line shut off valves. This could have caused your problem. Good luck with the dealer/warinty

I never thought about that! I have shutoffs on my RX1 but my friend never got around to making them. He did trailer from Milwaukee to Antigo (about 3hours) with a full tank. It would really be bad if Yamaha doesn't waranty the sled because of that. He had also just changed the oil and filter before this ride???????
