That is awesome! Especially the fact that you can ride from your dealer to your house to bring home your new sled...and do it in November!!! Let us know how she's working out for you. I imagine you're out riding now. I know I would be!

one word, wow,it is everything i expected and more,we ronly rode 20 miles tonight, have to be careful at this time of year, its easy to hit something underneath the snow, the suspension is soooo much better than my warrior,i was giggling in my helmet,i'm in break in mode so 40 mph was my top speed, most people i talk to say to not go by the book and run it hard from the get go but i'm the type that goes by the manual as far as break in is concerned,it is a sweet looking sled,i will add dually's and a 2'' taller windsheild from the accesories book, but all in all,i love the feel of the sled, seat, handlebar position is perfect, lots of storage too,i fitted a good size bag in the nose piece with a few emergency items, here's a couple pics of tonight, that's my bro in the pics

Nice sled "pat the rat" I'm glad you like her you didn't seem to sure the other day which way to go, kind of on the fence! for your runners I'd go with STUD BOY DEUCE w/6" carbides I find the WOODY DUALLY'S push like hogs in corners! man you guys are lucky we got more rain than snow here today, its almost all melted...but north of us on the Quebec side they started grooming this past weekend... :letsnow:

we could be grooming easy here but some farmers dont want us to go in the fields until it gets a little cooler,by the way,im very happy with my choice,my bud's got an 09 apex that i got a chance to ride on the weekend and the ride is nice but the vec does handle better and it is much quieter at trail speeds, plus i got 21 mpg on my first tank and he got 17

when i got it i immediatly tightened the strap 1 hole, loosen the front end a bit and i gave it a bit more transfer, the knob on the tunnel is at the 5th softest setting, only thing it needs are deuce bars and its gonna be just like i want it,i will install slp anti wear pads to help hyfax wear,on every 3rd window

Pat, I had deuce bars on my nytro for two seasons and although they were great for reducing darting I found them to push in the corners especially with a bit of snow on the trail. I forked out for a set of snowtrackers this year and hoping that they are as good as what I've read and heard.

DEUCE push in corners??? you must have to much transfer and not enough ski pressure, I love my DEUCE bars, I left my transfer to stock setting and shorten my limiter by 1 hole and run my rear shock 4 from soft and she rails in corners...

hey guys,
just enjoying reading along on this thread. congrats on the new sled pat the rat! i actually just picked up an 09 vector ltx gt myself. haven't had a chance to ride it yet (i'm dying too!). my question is regarding the shortening of the limiter strap. is this something EVERYONE shoud JUST DO right of the bat? i also am a pure trail rider (with limited off trail riding). i'm a skinny 6ft 155 pounder. also...what do you mean by 'lossening' the front end?
thanks,
peter

welcome to the site,if you thighten the limiter strap by one hole, your slidders last longer,it puts a bit more ski pressure but it dont affect steering much,as for the front end, loosening the front meaning the shocks,i always unscrew my shocks to about half the threads, makes the ride a little smoother.you have the gt so you have the clickers also,i ride mostly groomed trail so the smoother the better.you will love your new sled, the windsheild is a little cold so i ordered a 2'' taller one,my break in is done,300 miles already, used to own a rx warrior and i loved the sound of the 4 cyl,but the 3 cyl as its own growl,it sounds awesome, have fun on your new sled

Tightening the limiter strap one hole will make sliders last longer?

There are several posts about this buried in the archives over on the Apex section. I read about it last year before making my adjustment. It seems that a lot of people experience less rail cap wear and hyfax wear at the front of the skid when they suck their limiter strap up a notch. With the limiter a bit tighter, the front portions of the hyfax do not contact the track clips at such an aggressive angle and there is also less track tension at the front (when the skid is fully extended).

Welcome to the site Peter! You are going to love that new sled! is that you in the picture? If so, are you home and going to be able to ride this winter? where are you from? Maybe you should try and make a TY ride if you are in the midwest!
Thanks for serving our country!!
