Just wondering if anyone has had trouble with the welds letting go too?
I put mine through it’s paces roughly 7000km on this. Yamaha back ordered till March 25th currently looked into some wreckers with no luck.
Called cat and they can get it to me by Wednesday this week...find their prices are always 20-50 dollars a part more why is this? If I can salvage a couple rides before seasons out I see the value at this point.

Just curious, how hard were the paces you put her thru?

Fast trail I’m not launching massive ramps or anything. But I do skip across a whopped out trail 90% of the time.
In my years of riding I usually have this issue with the skids. I’ve gone through two sc-10’s and a sc-4 before those I had an identical issue with the 89’ Mach. I haven’t seen one let go at a variety of places such like this. Why I can’t weld and go it’s just too compromised. I was noticing in maintenance and inspection the welds early on where the paint flakes off early at the seems.

I had same thing happen however it was due to once large unforeseen mogul at high speed. Cracked about the same as your. Just got the replacement parts and upgraded to the race replica parts on cross shaft for skid and shaft for front skid shock.
There is a long thread with details on RR parts in crossshaft shear thread.

Mine broke in a similar fashion last year. I didn't notice it until I saw grease coming out of the crack during maintenance.

Mine broke last year around 5000 miles. Thought I blew the chain case when it lost drive was relieved to see it was only the front arm busted causing slack so it couldn't pull the track anymore. Yamaha warrantied, with different part number, not sure if new number is ugrade for strength or not.

If that was mine, I'd just weld it back together.

Have some good used ones here if you can't track anything down local.
