front end bushings

I was looking over my sled this week and noticed that the bolts that connect the lower a-arms to the spindle are very "wavey" the bushings are shot and I think I will have to cut the bolts out. I have 3000kms on the sled and weight 250lbs. Has anyone heard of or tried a aftermarket bushing. I have seen "oilights" on-line looks like they are metal??? do I want these to wear to save the front end (metal on metal cannot be good)

Yes, Ulmer's oilite bushings are the way to go. Hold up much better than the plastic OEM ones. Oilite is an oil impregnated bronze that is commonly used in the bushing industry.

I have bent several of the A-arm bolts.. all it takes is one good whack of a frozen rut or rock and they bend..

Just ordered mine too, but im going with a different spindle set up. I really hate the yamaha apex spindles have already cracked two of them not to mention they weigh like cast iron!!

timbersled products, they have a rose joint set up thats way better.

Tell me how well they hold up after a 1000miles or more per season, the apex is hard on front end parts.

Those barkbuster front set ups have been around for a while and theres a few pros using them, tough as nails. I also use the rose joint set ups on my class one race buggy with no problems but you need to use good quality parts for them to last.
