hey guys was out on the weekend on the lake just got off from the lake shut it off at the cottage and there was coolent everywhere.I had a look and it seems like i threw a stud threw the front heat exchanger anyone know how much one is and how hard to change???????????????thanks

well depends on how bad your hole is... you can get it welded but i used some "devcon" aluminum putty... this stuff is 10 times better than jb weld.. and i have 2000 miles since my stud mishap... holding up great!

stud mishap

the hole is just the size of the tip of a stud.I might try to weld it but i dont know if i can can get up and at it without taking everything apart.Where do you buy this devcon stuff if i do decide to go that route?????

Well it needs to be "devcon" aluminum putty... same thing happened to me on my 40th, stud just put a tip thru very small hole, only spit coolant when it started to warm up... brought it too a machine shop.. he couldn't weld it... could not get wip in at the right angle(nothing apart)... but he recommended using this devcon... it was $75 bucks for a 1lb kit... but this stuff is used to fix elec. motor rotors, shafts where bearing surfices are on etc... I bought mine at a place called coastal bearings... this stuff is "industry use". I have 2000 miles so far and this stuff is lasting better than the cooler itself.

Dont use JB weld.... spend the cash and get the right stuff..... trust me this stuff works, we use it here in the refinery i work at.... 24hrs(set time) you will be back on the trail!
