Any tips on changing the front heat exchanger on an 07 apex?
Threw a stud through the front exchanger and need to change it.
Not looking forward to it as it looks like a BIG job.
Thanks,
Rick.

LOL!
That's what I'm leaning to LB and ecop.
I'm also gonna pick up a used one and change it this summer when I have the extra doh for a new track. That's a whole nother thread.
Cheers,
Rick.

Do not waste your money on the used one . I am going through this as we speak and if my memory is correct it is 13 hours at the dealer to replace . I found a guy that is draining the system and welding it while in the machine.

Problem I have now is the guy who welds them here will only weld it out of the damn machine.
I told him that I will remove the skid/ track and anything in his way, but he insists it has to be out!
I can raise the arse end way up and he can get right at it.
Has me ticked off! i am gonna talk to another guy tomorrow who can weld aluminum.
Cheers,
Rick.

You know, you can get a mig for real cheap. Practice a little, then go for it. Just think of it this way... its an excuse to get a new tool, and you can never have too many tools, and it doesn't matter if you don't recoup the cost of the tool the first time you use it.

I have one arriving on monday.
I took out the old one and it sure as hell wasn't 13HRS!!!! F'n dealers are rippin people off!
Took me less than an hr to get the old one out.
Probably a total of 45 mins of actual working on it.
No track removal, no suspension removal,
no chaincase removal.
Drilled out about 20 rivets, removed the rear engine mount bolt, hoses and she wiggled right out.
Hardest part was had to chisel off on rivet head from the4 inside behind the chaincas b/c you can't get at it witht the chaincase on.
Just thought I'd share my experience.
A big thank you throttle jockey for the informative pm's.

Sounds like you are a better mechanic than rider.
