Straps broke and ruined shock, relay rods and bent both springs. Put all new parts along with straps. Took 30 mile ride and broken strap again wtf??? Anybody else experience this????

Avoid "wheelie" jumps where you come down on the back of the skid with the throttle pinned, this throws the skid forward, compresses the tension rods, and snaps the limiters. Especially in hard snow. Try to flatten out the landings a bit by letting off the throttle and tapping the brake.

straps

Thanks. Are there any adjustments that can be made to make them last longer? Are there any aftermarket ones that are more durable? How many pairs have you gone through in 13k miles?

Also make sure your straps are aligned straight. On my suspension the little bushings on the lower shaft were bunched up to one side. I noticed it while maintancing the suspension. I didn't worry about it until they snapped and took out the transfer rods. I was in a bad spot and almost didn't make it out of the valley. Luckily it was the last day of the week long trip.

You can make a set out of implement parts. I bought some belting that is on the back of a combine. I have no idea what it is called, but it is what spins on the back and spreads out the garbage coming out the back.

I just cut them to length and made the holes. Way stronger than the stockers and will last for years. I think the total cost was $12 and I could make 10+ sets.

Hey thinksnow, I could use 4 as well. I,ve got conveyor belt material, but it,s to thick to go thru the top guides.
Any part # for the belting that you used ? Do you have paypal ?

I guess I should rephrase that statement in the post. I have enough material to make 10 sets with the belt that I bought. I have NO time to make any right now-sorry.

I have a new suspension for my sled and it has been sitting in the garage for two months now and I still haven't got it installed yet. Way to busy at work to even think about it.

I even have my Corvette all tore apart and no time to get it back together. Started installing sound proofing and a new stereo and there it sits in pieces.LOL

The spacer/alignment bushings are critical on these...if they are not there or in the wrong place you will bust the straps very often. With the spacers it is rare to have a problem.
