2011 Apex limiter straps

On my 2011 128 apex, pulled my limiter straps up one hole ,helped with less ski lift in corners and overall seemed to handle better.The mechanic at my dealer said Yamaha told them not to adjust the limiter straps on the 2011, use the transfer control rod to adjust for ski lift in corners.I have tried it both ways, and the limiter strap shortened seams to work better. Does anyone know why they would recomend not adjusting the straps, as I drove my 2008 apex 11000 kms this way with no problems.

My gut tells me he/they are just another mis-informed dealer or this is just his thoughts in an attempt to make it look like he knows something?
 
Tighten them up 1 hole to start and put the transfer rod to min or close. If you need to you can tighten it up 2. I have been running mine at 1 hole tighter and the rod at min transfer. It handles good like this but it won't holeshot as well. It's all a tradeoff.

X2 - I have my transfer to min. and limiter strap tightened one hole. Went to 2 holes on the straps but felt a little too much pressure on the front end w/ my Simmons skis so went back to one. Sled handles like a dream.
 
limiter strap

I was not happy with handling of SE compared to 06 RTX until strap pulled up to middle hole, 40psi in front floats and transfer rod centered. Adding 13mm bar and now handles as good if not better than 06. Friends have even commented on how flat it is in the corners, now if I could only get rid of the low end drone, with 1900 miles on it has gotten a bit better.
 
I tried using the transfer rod adjustment and played with front spring preload, but it definitly corners flater with strap up one hole.I am going to pull the strap back up and ride some more like this.
 
I've been wanting to ask this question for a while:
Does does the powersteering system react to changes like adding more aggressive skis and/or carbides or tighting the limiter strap?
In other words, will the system compensate for changes?
For example, if you added C&A Razor skis with 8 inch carbides the steering would be just as light as with the stock skis and carbides?
That would be a major plus.
I'm thinking the system doesn't compensate though. So if you go with an aggressive set up you may find the steering effort to be let's say the same as the old Apex with stock skis.
That would not be a major plus because I'd want the full benefit fo the assist.
 
I'll let you know after next week. Just installed my old C@A XT skis on my XTX. 8" carbides and that 2x4 looking keel... it WILL turn LOL. I had them on my stretched Viper and they were not for the weak of arm. If I can keep the steering effort reasonable, they'll stay on the sled. If not, I'll be buying another set of Slydog Powderhounds. I did have to shim them, never had to when they were on the Viper. I'll post back Thursday or Friday next week.
