I bought a pair of shocks for my 08 Phazer and the bottom bracket of the shock on the A-arm is too shallow for the large collar on the shocks.
One option would be to cut the brackets off the a-arm and re-weld them but I don't know what kind of material the a-arms are made of? Does anybody have any experience welding the a-arms or know what their made of?

It sounds like you got the wrong shocks. Can you get correct ones? Will they fit upside down? Picture?
