Just wondering everyone's opinions or methods for filling the tanks. I bought my wife a 900 ACE Gade for Christmas this year. When we go out, the fuel mileage is not even comparable, hers is much better (I don't care about the mileage or cost since this is recreation for us) albeit her driving style is likely somewhat more conservative than mine and I weigh more than double her soaking wet weight of 100 lbs. I am looking at this more for range on say a longer trip than anything else. On the Doo site it seems to be popular to 'burp' the tank by pushing down on the rear bumper a couple of times when full. Doing this, I can get another gallon in the Gade. I tried this on the Viper and can easily get another half gallon in if not more. What's everyone's opinion on this? I know that gas expands when heated so I would only do it while fueling during a ride when I am going to immediately start burning it, or while in the heated garage before putting it out in the cold before a ride. I would never fill in the cold and drive into the warm garage. Sorry for the long post. Let me know what you think.

P.S. Ski-Doo makes an awesome little fuel caddy for the LinQ system that I imagine I will end up buying and putting on her sled so she can carry gas for me anyway haha.

I have my buddy sit or push down on the back of my viper , or if its at all possible park on an upward slope at the pump, I've never actually gauged how much extra fuel I get but call me paranoid, I can't help thinking of running out of fuel 1/2 a mile from a station, sometimes they're far and few between.

I always "burp" our sled and fill ours right to the neck!! no issues!
Btw wife get way better mileage then me (comparing when I was stock) and they are the same sled I'm on the throttle where she is just cruising

Yup, we have 2 vipers. I burp them 1 or 2 times while filling.. I usually leave an inch or Two for expansion.

Yep burp all my sleds. I heard from a friend that DOO has redesigned the tank in the 17's because apparently you could not get the fuel pump to pick up the last gallon or so in the tank due to the fact it has a bit of a drop at the back.

Same sleds here. Viper and 900 ACE Gade. The Gade is about the perfect second sled. I put aggressive snow trackers and a 1.6 ice cobra track on it. It steers, does not slide, rides and handles great and is VERY quiet. I never have to worry if it is going to run out of gas. Accessory add ons are a work of art. What I might suggest is that you add a Linq can to the Gade and keep extra gas for the Viper in it. May as well get the one that allows you to stack a bag on top too. The Gade will go nearly 2x as far on a tank.

And yes you have the right idea on burping. Just restating the obvious: Cap on to burp it and be sure not to do it when it's going inside or end of season as it will expand and run out.

I hear you on the Gade being quiet and efficient. When I picked it up from the dealer, I was shocked that it was even running. The wife loves it. She had ridden mine a short distance and can't wait to get back on hers. She says mine feels like 'it just wants to go' and she doesn't like that. I did plan to look at the stackable Fuel Caddy. Was hoping to maybe put that slick 21L bag they have on top of it for longer trips.

Yep use hers like a pack mule. The accessories are much better. The 1+1 seat with backrest is expensive, but awesome to have.
