Hey everyone,
I did a quick search and didn't find much related to this problem so I'm looking for a little guidance before I head out Tuesday for a day trip to Tug Hill.
I have a '07 Apex GT and this year I had to do the old exhaust repairs. I experienced no problems with the repairs (upgraded to Hauck GHT-R-DUN exhaust while I was at it). Before I started ripping into it, I noticed the gas gauge was very low and the idiot light was falshing on the dash. I figured I was just low on fuel, which I was. I didn't think much of it while doing the repairs but I did notice that when I took the gas tank off the wires going to what I believe is the sending unit (top, back side of tank), the black (assuming ground) wire was frayed pretty badly. I repaired it today by soldering it back together, heat shrink and tape. No problem. Turn the sled back on and sure enough I am getting a low fuel reading still. I am at a loss as to where else to look because the remaining wires going back to the harness look good. Any guidance would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if the ground goes through one of the grounding blocks but you could start there. Looking at the wiring dia the power comes from the multifunction meter (green/black)to the sending unit then to ground (chocolate).
