i know on carb model's you have to clean every year, is there any service that has to be done to the fuel inj. every year, how do you know there all working evenly?

EFI maintenance

One thing that can be checked is the throttle-body synchronization to be sure all TB's are opening equally.

Fuel doesn't sit in the throttle bodies like a carburetor so they should remain clean.

My theory is that autos have been using FUEL INJECTION for many many yrs...and how often do we do anything to our cars?...i dont think much if at all in many thousands of miles...

I think the biggest thing anyone would do to CLEAN them is use a fuel injection cleaner in your fuel if you felt it needed it...

I dont think there is any reason to have to "adjust" anything,as the puter takes care of the synching ect....unless you have changed those settings they should remain same.

probably others who know alot more about the technical side of fuelies....could help in this thread.

Until I sold my auto repair business a few years ago, auto repair was my career. This fuel injected 4 stroke is similar to most auto fuel systems. I am going to occasionally run fuel injection cleaner through the gas tank throughout the season and once a year clean the air induction system.

The air induction is often overlooked by auto techs as an area of service. Since the fuel is not sent through the throttle bodies, deposits are not being washed away by the fuel running over them. These deposits are building thicker each time you shut off the engine. It's the fumes from the combustion chambers that migrate back through open intake valves that form the deposits on the throttle bodies (In the case of these engines) They periodically need to be washed away by cleaning with carb cleaner. If left undone the engine will gradually loose throttle response.
I will clean it first by going onto each throttle body with cleaner and a rag followed by spraying cleaner into each throttle body with the engine running.

You could throw a can of fuel injector cleaner in a full tank of gas and run it threw

Run a can of Seafoam in it with your last fill up each trip. Conditions fuel and cleans injectors. Been doing this for years on ALL my gasoline engines. 2 cans a month through the truck and Suburban, 1 in each sled tank on the last day of a trip. No fuel problems in any vehicle for 15 years. My .02.
