Out for a ride on sled today and low fuel light came on at about 130kms, gas guage at 1 bar. Got back to pick-up with sled showing 153kms. Fueled up sled and it took 28 liters... so with a tank capacity of about 36liters light comes on with approx 10 liters left?
Tried doing doing a search but couldn't narrow it down less than 2136 search items.

All i can say is that my fuel gauge is crazy it never gives me a proper reading.
Sometimes it will tell me ive got one bar left then 5 minutes later its back up to 3 bars even on flat ground

there is no correct answer for this as all sleds are different. light comes on sooner on some sleds than others with more fuel left in tank for reserve. two sleds I've had one had 12 liters left when lite came on, the other had only 6. try to figure out your remaining fuel in your sled and you will know how much longer you can ride after the lite comes on.

I have ridden over 156 miles on a tank and still had over 2 gallons left at fill up. But one time it got me concerned as the light came on after riding only 117 miles, I thought something had to be wrong but I knew it was only 17 more miles to the gas station which would put me around 134 miles so I figured I could go slow and make it. When I got it filled up I still had 3.2 gallons left. This is the only time I had the light come on that early. I just go by mileage now not the guage. I know I'm good for at least 140 miles even in heavy wet snow or bustin through some pow. I always check gas mileage every time I fill up.

While recently on a trip and late one night on my 07 Attak and two other guys on their 07 Attaks, all three of us had our fuel lights come on. Rider weight caused the fuel lights to come on a different points, i.e. rider weight affected fuel consumption. Upon fill-up, I took 29 liters and so did one of the others. I believe the tank holds 36 liters so we had plenty of fuel left.

Wouldn't that be over 20MPG? How are you doing that? I'm lucky to be around 15MPG at best.

Thanks. First time I've ever ridden that far 2-up on this sled, machine has less than 700kms on it and never had the lite come on. At least now I know not to overly worry when the lite comes on... still a bit of range left.

Light comes on I've got 8 litres left.
low gas lght
I have a 07 Apex GT and the lo fuel lite comes on between 105 and 110 miles and the farthest I've been is 135 mi. and I didn't check upon fillup.
It usually gets 14-15 mpg.

I don't rely on the gas gauge for determining when to get gas. The worst milesage I have experienced on my 03 RX-1 is 14 mpg and the best is 19 mpg. I use 125 miles as the absolute limit for gas stop to gas stop. If I know the distance to the next gas stop might be close to this limit, I be sure to go easy on the throttle. On every sled I have owned aitha gas gauge, they were all way off.

I've run out with my Apex GT and have gone 5 miles to a gas station by feathering the throttle. This was on level ground. When I filled up it held 35 litres!!!

No actually it's just under 20 closer to 19 mpg. Honestly when we bought it brand new in 2007 the very first ride we took it on it was getting 18.5 mpg with the engine breaking in and we were riding county roads between Sault Ste. Marie, Mi and Paradise and the snow was over 18" deep and we were busting trail. If I ride sensibly not hammering the throttle wide open then back off just to hammer it again it does extremely well. Even on the rides when I'm in and out of the happy flapper for the whole ride it gets 14-15 mpg. I think the Amsoil and the low snow wheel kit have helped also as the engine breaking is diminished quite a bit. I also run my track real loose and for some reason it does not ratchet. I thought everyone was getting around 17-18 mpg with these that is why I bought one, but after reading some of the mileage complaints after my purchase I guess I got a good one. On one ride with my wife, son, and daughter in the same mileage for all three of our machines my 04' Polaris 700 used 9.5 gallons, my son's 05' Polaris 550 fan used 8.5 gallons and the 07' Attak used 4 gallons and that was with me and my daughter on it. I get about 17 mpg on most rides but can achieve higher mpg's if I restrain myself.langow said:TryanATTACK wrote : "I have ridden over 156 miles on a tank and still had over 2 gallons left at fill up"

I forgot the best one of all when me and my son and a buddy of mine went to the Keweenaw and I got better fuel mileage than his Ski-Doo Rev 600 h.o. SDI. And by the 3rd day his sled was low on compression and not running right with less than a 1,000 miles on it. He said when we first got up there he wanted to race me until I let him ride my Attak then he said forget it he wouldn't have a chance. And best of all it just keeps running better and better with just over 4,000 miles on it now. All my idlers are still good the only thing wrong is my exhaust donuts did go on my last trip and I still can't get the dang bolts out of the Y pipe brackets.
